Bachelor of Science, Criminal Justice

Briarcliffe College offers the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Criminal Justice at its Bethpage and Patchogue campuses. It is designed to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the criminal justice field and enables them to pursue positions in the field of protective services, to advance within their field if they are already employed in the area of criminal justice, and to pursue more advanced study at the master's level after completion of the BS at Briarcliffe College. Our program enables students to explore and prepare for careers in federal, state, or local law enforcement, private investigations, corrections, probation and parole, private protective security, and as providers of security to firms concerned with incidences of computer crime.

The Bachelor of Science program builds upon the College's existing A.S. degree program, allowing students to make a seamless transition from the Associate's to the Bachelor's degree criminal justice program.

Consistent with the College's mission and curricular strength in the area of management, our outstanding program incorporates a management component consisting of five 3-credit required criminal justice management courses. The curriculum has been designed to provide students with a solid base in the discipline that affords a balance of theory and application, while allowing them to explore one or more specialty areas corresponding to their particular career ambitions.
