This program is designed for practicing Certified Dental Assistants and Registered Dental Hygienists wishing to augment their existing skills with further training in orthodontic treatments and procedures.
Students will learn the categories of orthodontic treatment and to identify and perform dental maintenance on instruments, equipment and accessories used in orthodontics. They will also learn about various orthodontic appliances and their applications in treatment. In addition, students will also learn to prepare, organize and effectively perform various orthodontic duties, from accurate documentation of orthodontic procedures and health histories to fitting and removal of various appliances to assessment by the dentist. |
