This program is intended for the student who has earned a master's degree and who wants to earn a terminal degree with a focus on teaching concepts of holistic health and wellness. This program equips graduates with a global perspective in the philosophical foundations of traditional naturopathy and holistic health and wellness.
Program Objectives
- Provide the student with an in-depth study of holistic health and wellness in the areas of mind/body wellness, health and human energy field, the spirit and science of holistic health, Oriental nutritional healing perspectives, Ayurvedic medicine, history of food and health, nutrition and longevity, and nutrition and mental health.
- Develop the student's knowledge and skills of curriculum design and the assessment of teaching and learning.
- Enable the student to develop advanced research skills applicable to real-world problems.
- Prepare the student to use research design skills to support research in holistic health and wellness.
- Equip the student with research and teaching skills that add to the expansion of the field of holistic health and wellness.
After completing approximately one fourth of the core curriculum, students will take a qualifying exam, which confirms content mastery. Prior to beginning work on the dissertation, students will take a comprehensive exam, which confirms program mastery. |
Quality Standards Certified
