Nursing is a career that is in great demand; makes a difference in peoples' lives 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and offers opportunities in multiple settings with individuals, families and communities. National American University's Associate Degree of Nursing program is an excellent program for those of you who have a serious desire to help people in need of medical care. As a graduate of this program, you may be able to continue on for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, although that is not guaranteed.

National American University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association.

In addition, the following National American University programs are separately accredited or approved by national educational and professional associations.

The veterinary technology program is accredited by the Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA).

The medical assisting program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), on recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for Medical Assistant Education.

The athletic training education program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), on recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education Programs in Athletic Training (JRC-AT).

The paralegal studies program offered at the Rapid City campus is approved by the American Bar Association.
