General Education Studies

NAU's Associate of Science degree in General Education Studies offers an opportunity for students who have not declared a career goal. Upon completion of this degree, students may apply most of the course work toward a four-year degree at National American University.

The number of credits applicable toward the four-year degree will depend on the program selected.

Accreditation

National American University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association.

In addition, the following National American University programs are separately accredited or approved by national educational and professional associations.

The veterinary technology program is accredited by the Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA).

The medical assisting program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), on recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for Medical Assistant Education.

The athletic training education program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), on recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education Programs in Athletic Training (JRC-AT).

The paralegal studies program offered at the Rapid City campus is approved by the American Bar Association.
