Associate's Degree - Nursing

The Associate in Science Degree in Nursing provides entry-level opportunities for students to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse. Registered Nurses provide for the physical, mental and emotional needs of their patients, and help people take proactive measures to ensure they live a healthier life.

New England Tech's Associate Degree Nursing program provides students the technical skills, medical knowledge, highly-developed communication and critical thinking to develop as a professional nurse.

Throughout the curriculum, the student has planned clinical and laboratory experiences to complement classroom learning. Students may qualify for one of two nursing programs tracks. The Standard Track is a seven-quarter, 21-month program designed for traditional students who require the liberal arts courses as well as the nursing courses for the Associate in Science Degree in Nursing. The second track is the innovative Fast Track, a five-quarter, 15-month program. This track is designed for those students who have completed all their liberal arts courses and who need only the nursing courses to complete the Associate in Science Degree in Nursing.

Graduates of the New England Tech's Associate Degree in Nursing will enter the fastest-growing employment market in the United States. They are prepared to work in a wide variety of settings, including hospitals, home health care, long-term care, healthcare clinics, public health, and outpatient care. Graduates of the Associate Degree Nursing program are eligible to take the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses.

Accreditation Status

The accreditation process will take approximately two years from the start of candidacy (January 5, 2009). All students who graduate during or after the accreditation cycle during which the site visit was performed will be recognized as graduates of an accredited nursing program.
