The Computer Information Technology emphasis focuses on the business applications residing on todays desktop computers, as well as some fundamental concepts related to computer-system administration. In addition, students will have the opportunity to select electives that develop their skills in either computer repair and support or multimedia applications.
The CIT field is expected to grow 30% at the national level and nearly 32% in the State of Minnesota through 2012. Graduates will serve businesses as on-site help-desk staff; they will trouble-shoot computer problems and educate users in complex desktop software applications and Internet programs.
