Physical Therapist Assisting

If you're interested in physical therapy but aren't ready for grad school, a career as a physical therapist assistant may be of interest. In South University's Associate of Science (AS) in Physical Therapist Assisting degree program, you will gain the knowledge and skills needed to embark on this rewarding career.

Physical therapist assistants perform components of physical therapy procedures and related tasks selected by a supervising physical therapist. These workers assist physical therapists in providing services that help improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. Patients include accident victims and individuals with disabling conditions such as lower-back pain, arthritis, heart disease, fractures, head injuries, and cerebral palsy.

The Physical Therapist Assisting program offers a curriculum that is well rounded in all fundamental concepts and theories as they apply to physical therapy modalities and rehabilitation procedures.
