The Acupuncture Program at the Swedish Institute was established in 1996. Its curriculum is rooted in the history, applied philosophy and spirit of Classical Chinese Acupuncture. This style has its roots in the philosophy of Taoism, and is governed by principles outlined in ancient texts.
It was created under the guidance of Jeffrey C. Yuen, Dean for Academic Affairs. His experience as both a scholar and 88th generation Taoist priest has helped shape the breadth and depth of the curriculum.
His calligraphy, above, represents the word "Shen" or Spirit. According to the classic text, Huang Di Nei Jing, all of acupuncture's laws must be rooted in the spirit. |
