Bachelor Degree - Construction Management

The construction management courses offered at Westwood College cover a wide variety of subjects. Students in the Construction Management program receive training in three main areas: construction science, construction management, and business. This helps to provide students with well-rounded construction management training. At Westwood College students focus on the leadership and skills needed to get a construction management career.

  • Identifying how building codes and inspection processes are used in construction
  • Drafting a basic residential and/or commercial drawing by hand and using computer aided design technology, applying correct construction graphics and related concepts
  • Developing, tracking, and managing changes to a construction project plan and schedule that meets project criteria
  • Analyzing data from a construction site or plan for integrity of structural design, mechanical systems, and electrical systems on a construction project
  • Applying standard supervisory practices, effective project management, and sound record-keeping principles to the management of a construction project
